Meeting with a Legend I met Dr. C. P. Thakur,
Senior Parliamentarian, BJP Leader and Former Central Minister on 14th September, 2017 at his official residence in New Delhi. Though it was a courtesy call, we discussed on many issues including current political scenario in the country.
Dr. Thakur told me many interesting stories from his great and wonderful life. He told the incidents that led him to join Politics. Before joining politics, Dr. C.P. Thakur was one of the India’s most popular doctors and surgeons. He also recollected his close association with ‘LokNayak’ Shri Jay Prakash Narayan and the then Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi.
Dr. C.P. Thakur is a legend and has was the personal physician from Shri Jai Prakash Narayan. He is also the recipient of “PadmaShri” and he has been awarded prestigious Dr. B.C Award for his great contribution to the field of Health and Medicine.
A renowned doctor, Dr. C.P.Thakur has done extensive research in the field of ‘Kala-jar’ and he is also the first Indian Medical scientist to be honored with lifetime achievement award by World Health Organistaion. Dr. C.P. Thakur was the Central Health Minister in the NDA Government led by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
